An example would be if you can turn on a light from a transmitter but cannot turn it off from the transmitter or you

apart and not be able to get signal through because of power line noise being broadcast by a device all the way on the other side of the house or in the same room.

Dimmer Plug-in Module is a 300W receiver unit that works as a remote dimmer/on and off lighting module.
The dimmer module can be used at any all outlet in the house with incandescent lamps between 40W and 300W. As the dimmer is simply inserted into the wall outlets like an ordinary plug, there is no installation to be carried out.

X10 DIN rail dimmer is a 700W receiver module that serves as a remote controlled dimmer. Will control standard bulb lights, and low voltage lighting up to a maximum of 700W. The lamp module has a soft-start (when turned on, the module will gradually brighten the light from 0 up to the last dim level. When turned off, the reverse occurs.)
Unit can be turned on/off, brightened/dimmed either by an X10 controller (remote or PC)or by external momentary action switches connected to Terminal 2. It responds to "standard" X10 commands. ie. All-Lights-On, All-Units-Off, On, Off, Bright and Dim. It also responds to extended X10 commands. Combined with the memory dim feature, the LD10 can change the room lighting instantly or progressively.
